Zoolights! Family Night


See the zoo transformed into a winter wonderland, aglow with nearly a million lights. More than 200 animated animals swing through trees, jump across lawns, hide in bushes and appear in places where they’re least expected. Displays include swinging monkeys, leaping frogs, flying bats, diving penguins and a perfect-for-photos light sculpture featuring a dozen animals.

This will be a wonderful evening for adults and kids alike. Join the Brown Club for some socializing and a quick bite to eat at the Zoo’s cafe before heading out to explore the lights.

Sage Cohen’s book launch celebration!


Distinguished local poet, Sage Cohen, will be celebrating the launch of her new book Like the Heart, the World with a reading and book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Vancouver, WA. This collection of Ms. Cohen’s poetry “accompanies the reader through the blighted streets of New York losses, the oceanic melancholies of San Francisco and Portland’s orchestral embrace of the ripening, welcomed self.

Please join us for the debut of a glorious work that “documents the courtship dance of a self taking shape.”
